Honey I want to see a show...
But I want to see some dancing and a story
And I want to see bloodletting
But I want a romantic comedy
And I want to see sexy zombies in tight skirts
Hey you two! Stop fighting, here is show for the both of you

The Living Dead Girlz are happy to help. Officially they are not relationship counselors but are a performance dance group from San Francisco. They definitely make going to see a show fun again. There are over 5 stage shows in the last 2 years that have been prepared for performances in San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles. Imagine if Zombie Elvis had an opening act in Vegas, it would be the Living Dead Girlz.

This is not an “Oh I get it” one joke show. It has a loyal fan base and following of their performances because they are made up of classically trained dancers and seasoned performance artists who work together to create a witty, funny, visceral show. Each of the fifteen to twenty minute performances has a fun story and a theme. Although all of the shows are written by the group, Amber Steele is the groups choreographer and fellow performer. After 2 years she agrees this would not be continuing if it weren't for the energy of the people she works with and the horror fans that come to every show. The response has been amazing.
Normally stage shows become films but int his case the opposite is true. While rehearsing for a short film as dancing zombies Shannon Lark ( Cowgirl Zombie) said, “hey you know what be a great idea? “ The Living Dead Girlz were unborn.
Amber (Ghetto-Fab Zombie for those counting at home) agrees with George Romero\\\'s vision of zombies as symbols of consumerism. The zombie genre is a “wonderfully unexplored genre”. This is certainly an over the top satire on manufactured girl pop groups. The entire show in fact is performed over “really bad pop music” just to drive the point home.
With its tongue and cheek splatter and gore approach, the Living Dead Girlz certainly satirizes the consumerism of sexy girls as mindless zombies. They provide a refreshing look at what it means to be a sexy bad girl, I mean what can be worse than the undead.

They take a different look at what it means to be a zombie and who they eat. These girls are not mindless intestine eaters without a sense of fair play. In the story lines the women choose to become zombies not forced to become them. The victims are the killers, rapists that are glorified in a typical slasher film.
So their show is not without its tale of morality set to the sounds of “Don'tcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me”, Tasty.

They are being booked more and more so it seems like it is working for their fans and for female horror fans. For example, women who are interested in becoming a Living Dead Girl ( who wouldn't) there is a 20 girl waiting list. If you combined the films, “The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies” and “Dawn of the Dead”, I think you would get the visceral appeal of the Living Dead Girlz.
For those you want more, get on their mailing list at www.livingdeadgirlz.com. There are 5 complete shows with 2 more being developed for a future tour. They are scheduling shows for festivals, trade shows, events, in San Francisco, Texas, and even a spoof music video. If you go don't wear something like a white sweater you just bought at J.C. Penny and then break down and cry when you are splattered with stage blood.
